Race Testimonials

Just wanted to let you know what a great job you guys did with the race on Saturday!  I have raced in plenty of 5Ks in Virginia, and this was the best organized I've ever been to.  Thank you for all of your hard work, I think this is such a great thing for a small town like Gretna.  The bags at packet pick-up were really great too!  I'll look forward to next year!

This was one of the most well put together races I have attended in a long time.  It was very well laid out and Runners knew exactly where to go from the white arrows painted on the road...  It was very helpful that there were people who let the Runners know their time at the end of a mile...I am training for a Marathon in Richmond in November of this year...This race helped me to realize I need more work on hills to build my stamina...I hope Gretna holds the race next year…you can count on me being there!

The only comment I have is “wow, what a great job you all did”.  The course was well marked and all the details were tended to perfectly.  It is a great pleasure attending a race that is so well organized. I’ve even heard the Chatham folks say they could learn a few things from Gretna’s race.  A special thanks to you Gretchen, Lou & Kent, and all the other folks that gave so much time to pull off a fantastic race.

Thanks again,

Taft

You guys did a great job!  I was very impressed with the organization on a "first" event.  I really do need to sit down and talk to your organizers before our race.  I'm sure there are things you would have done differently even though it looked perfect from my perspective.

Congrats on a great race!  It didn't seem like an inaugural event, as it was well run, had many volunteers, had great sponsors, and a good turnout.  Rarely have I been to a race that gave away such nice trophies & plaques.  They were definitely first class.  I loved the popsicles too!!!   Only negative thing I can think of is that I didn't win the strawberries door prize.  I guess I'll just have to come pick some... I'll definitely add this on my calendar for next year.  I'll have to practice a few more hills before coming though!! :-)  They hurt!

Take care,

Mark
